i own a 2007 zx6r and while riding last week it seemed like the motor was shutting off and restarting at 9000 rpm and would not go any higher. bike does not have this problem in neutral or with the clutch pulled in; only when under load. any advide would be much appreciated.

Check fuel pressure first. Normally the problem.

it doesnt seem to be a fuel problem it just feels like the bike is hitting the rev limiter at 9000rpm but ill be sure to check that out. thanks. also hear it could be the throttle position sensor that is out.

Well 90% of the time what happens is the fuel pressure is weak and when the secondary injectors kick in and demand more fuel it bogs. Just fixed this same problem on a 600rr. New fuel pump was all it took.
