To start it you can bring it all the way toward you but after it warms up you must push it all the way back (away) from you.

Ok, I just got my new 03 6r last week. Im having trouble with the "choke" to get my idle and start up on track. If the choke lever is all the way back (away from me), and I start the bike, it just dies. When I move it towards me, it idles fine. Can I leave the choke lever all the way towards me? Or once it warms up move it forward? I'm a little confused by it. Thanks for your replies.

don't allow the rpm's to go above 2500 at idle, move it up if it starts idling too high.
