ok I have a 440 that I am putting on a gokart. I was wondering what all wiring had to be hooked up in order for the engine to have spark. Any information will help. Oh and the motor is from around the early 80s I am guessing and it doesnt have points, it has an electronic ignition. Thanks

I bet that if you post up some pictures, and divulge some more information about the engine, people will post up with their ideas.

You're putting a 440 (like from a KZ440?) in a kart??? That's a shitload of power... Check for a Clymer manual.. that's a very "mature" motor, so there should be plenty of information available.

It's old enough that it should be relatively simple - no fuel injection, minimal electronics. Basically the carbs, points (check the right side - a buddy of mine had one of those way back when & the points gave him fits), and coil(s) should be the only "complicated" parts. The rest is basic internal combustion 101.

Good luck; let us know how it goes. Then let us know how it GOES... lol.
