Just got back from a rather spirited canyon ride. 99.9999% of the fun riding I've done to date is during the day, so this evening kinda freaked me out. I'm an experienced rider, but tonight I found two problems: 1) While the road we were riding is VERY familiar, it takes on an entirely new feel when dark - kinda gave me the jitters. 2) I found my eyes almost unable to look ahead - the floating things (dirt particles, etc...) illuminated by my headlights and reflected things to one side or another were very distracting. Maybe I'm getting old, maybe I need to eat more carrots, maybe I need glasses, or one of those yellow visors...

Similar experiences? What has worked for you?

I've found the best technique for riding at night is not at all! To much you can't see. Even with Brights on you can only see maybe 15 yards in front of you in a turn. If I ride any twisties at night time I'll be taking it easy.
