Today, Sunday the 15th, the temperature got up to 65 in Oklahoma City...needless to say after about 3 weeks of pretty cold and rainy weather...the bikes were in full force.

I get this call from a guy I met at school saying they are getting some people to ride today and wanted to know if I wanted to come...of course I do. This will be the first time I've riden in a group larger than 3.

Ends up there was about 60 supersport bikes meeting at a local hooters resturant. At first, about of 60 bikes, there was only me and another guy who had ninjas. I was very disappointed. All there was was R6s and R1s and GSXRs...and a couple CBRs. After about an hour of riding along on the freeway, we exit off and get to this point where there is a long stretch of even pathed road, perfect for doing tricks. Everyone parks and the tricksters begin showing off. Well, me and the other ninja guy don't really trick, so we sat there posing our ninjas while everyone kinda smercked about us having ninjas and saying stuff like, "ninjas are the worst trick bikes ever". We said nothing back.

After about 30 minutes of watching R6s and R1 and GSXRs doing mad tricks...up comes 3 guys...all on 6Rs. Me and my new found friend were like...hell yeah! The new ninja dudes see us and park next to us. We exchange of few words of bike talks...mods, models...ect...bla bla. Then these guys decide to start getting out there and tricking. MAN ALIVE, THESE NINJA RIDERS WERE BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE OUT THERE. They were pulling off AMAZING shit and I know what everyone else was thinking....are they really on ninjas? Yes they were and they were BAD ASS MOTHER FUCKERS!! I was never so proud to own a ninja in my life!

Anyway, if I would have known that I would end up having a day like that...I would have brought my camera, but since I didn't, you'll have to take my word for it.

=)

Sweet time. I've been itching to put my bike back together... just enough to start it, let alone ride it.

whoa...that's crazy stuff. Thank God I live in Oklahoma where there is always decent days to ride during the winter.

Hope everything works out. It looks really really good so far!

To you crazy frame polishers... I've never polished a frame before, and damn, they look good, but what do you guys do to prevent corrosion now? Forgive my ignorance, but do ya clear coat it or what?

to prevent corrosion.. avoid water whenever possible... then polish it every other week. It's a slight pain in the ass but it does look real good.. I don't think maitenance on my frame will be tough but the swingarm will be a pain in the ass... If you do polish your frame only polish the parts that show.. that way you don't have to take your entire bike apart every other week .. it can become a huge pain in the ass that way.

I am just going to polish mine by-weekly to keep the corrosion off.
Some people do clear coat it, but you're gonna lose a bit of shine.

I'm looking into getting some real nice clear coat to test some some parts of the frame that are not visible, see how it looks.

Waxing will also help keep the shine. It works the same way on cage paint. If you're cage is well looked agter and has a few coats of wax, the water is going to bead, and run off. Hence, the luster and shine - little to no contact with water or other nasty road gunge.

I think I've got some glazer at work that could have decent results as well. CdnNinja seems willing to be the 'tester'...

We'll try it on yours soon... and if it works, then I'll do my bike too.
