Do they even make a 636 in 2003? I found one with 2000+ miles. Thats very hard to believe for being a 03. The guy wants $4900 with gear, does that sound right to anyone? Is that a good deal?

2003 was the first year of the 636cc zx6r and 4900 sounds like a good deal, go for it!

Sounds like a solid deal. There are a lot of guys out there that just don't put on a lot of miles.

they made a 636 in 01 and 02 i believe. that model was available over seas and one of the color was a silver. im not sure if it came out in 2000 though. that style 636 was like the J-series and and the B-series.

i think the 1st 636 model was the A1 , i had a J1 2000 model which was a 599cc and the J2 was a facelift using the zx9 fairing. Then the A1 using the same fairing in 2002 with the 636cc and as arturo has pointed out it was silver or blue in europe.
The B1 was a brand new bike in 2003 just make sure yours isnt a late registered A1 model.
Great bikes not as comfortable as your 2000 model (harsh suspension)but spend some time setting it up and you will be pleased with your purchase. i think its a great bike.

what is the difference between the 636 and the zx6r or the rr or whatever else model they have that year.

ZX6R=636cc
ZX6RR=599cc (bike was made for AMA Racing rules)
In 03 and 04 the ZX6RR came with a slipper clutch, the ZX6R did not. I think the ZX6RR had a few more things it came with as well.

Now look wise, its the same right? Also is the 03 fuel injected? I think the guy started the bike with a chock.

they do look similiar, but not the same. yeh 03 should be efi. but they came with a "fast idle" or a choke if you will. 03/04 are the same. 05/06 same. 03/04 have s side pipe. where the 05/06 have undertail exhaust.

The guy has all the stickers taken off. How do i tell just by looking if its a 636 or 600

the lowers on the 600 will be same color. altho many ppl paint theres to match. i may be wrong, but i think the 600 only came in all green??
also somewhere on the engine there should be a stamp saying the actually displacement

The 600(RR) has an adjustable swingarm pivot, has a lug on the frame side rail for a side mount stabilizer, a slipper clutch, has forged pistons and different gearing.

If its an 03 or 04, there were no different colors on the lowers. Everything was a solid color on all the 03-04's. The 6RR in 03 had a silver frame though, while the 04 6RR had a black frame.
