I own a 1996 ZX6R and everytime I change the oil I have trouble getting the oil light to go out. Switch/wiring fine..spoke to local dealer who said need some revs to clear..This does work , although not imediately and top end a little noisy in proces...takes a few seconds, however seems like a lifetime...Have tried pre filling filter but no better..seems like possibly air in system..Has anyone else had this problem and how do I cure please. I change oil every year, however am scared to do so as possibly doing more harm than good.[?]

Some engines take longer to build full pressure than others.

Just let the bike idle for a little bit, and at most, rev it up to 2k rpms, and hold it steady. There is enough oil film to protect all mechanical parts of the engine for quite a while under no load/low speed running.

It shouldn't take more than 10-15 seconds to clear off the oil light.
BC.

I didn't do it, I swear.
And even if I did, what makes you think I would admit it to you?

The oil light often goes on for a bit after changing the oil. To avoid seizure, do not race the engine until the light goes off.
