Ok, on the bike the oil light stays on after an oil change. When I get it I plan on putting the most expensive oil into it. For the 250 I used Mobil one with 20 w 50 or somethign like that. What would be the best for a 95' zx6r? Also what are all the reasons that light stays on? thanks!

Loose wire, bad light, low oil pressure could arise from many different problems. Such as a block in the oil line somewhere, low oil, bad pump.

Dan...comfortable enough with his manhood to ride a 600.

It is normal for the light to come on for a couple of seconds after an oil change (or a crash for that matter). If it starts making funny noises shut it down. Don't rev it while the light is on. I use Mobil 1 15W50 in my '95 ZX-6R with good results so far with 15,000 miles on the way to 100,000.

The oil light often goes on for a bit after changing the oil.

Mobil 1 does not offer a 20W-50 viscosity for four-cylinder engines. If you like the brand, use Mobil 1 with SuperSyn 15W-50, which is the only Mobil 1 viscosity that does not have the "Energy Conserving" certification.
