Oil survey

Started off with cheap Kawasaki mineral oil then went with Mobil MX4T. The bike doesn't vibrate nearly as much with this stuff in it - big difference in overall engine character.

Chaos, panic, disorder......

Just wanna get everyone's choice oil they use in their 6R. I got the bike and was actually standing in the oil aisle for quite a while before I could chose any one given brand. I ran Mobile 1 in my 300ZX and my 240SX, but went with castrol syntac for my Ninja. What do you all run?

No, get that Castrol Syntec out of your bike engine, NOW!!
I used that crap in my bike for 3k miles, and my bike ran like crap the entire time.

Engine was sluggish, harder to start, and the clutch felt like it was made of wood from the moment I poured it in, to the moment I drained it out and replaced it with Amsoil instead.

BC.

I didn't do it, I swear.
And even if I did, what makes you think I would admit it to you?

As do I, and nor can I;)
I'VE JUST CHANGED MY FIRST OIL CHANGE AND USED MOTUL 15-50, IT SEEMS LIKE THE CLUTCH SLIPS A LITTLE FROM 1 TO 2ND WHEN GETTING ON IT. MAYBE ITS MY FOOT[:p]

IF YOU AIN'T RIDIN YOU AIN'T LIVIN
I also did my first oil change last week and used Mobile 1 10w40. I haven't had any problems like others have had w/ the clutch slipping. It was $1.07 a quart at Wal-Mart.

I have chosen the Full synthetic Kawasaki motor oil.
10,000kms HARD driven.Full season or racing on er too.
Cam lobes look mint, no noises, no slipping...etc.

Everyone has their own thing.....
Badassjake I thought you could not use full synthetic unless you had a dry clutch?
Mobil MX4T. It's a synthetic. You can run synthetic. No probs.
Synthetics are fun.

Car synthetics have wayyyy to many molys in them for clutches to do their thing.
JASO spec oils for wet clutches are great! They have passed the rigors or testing and are perfect for bikes and such.
There is also a test for cam index wear which is extremely good too.....but there is nobody to date that can pass both with the same oil.

Thanks guys,

After reading this I felt guilty and changed the oil again, Mobil 1 and a K&N filter as aopposed to the fram. Only put 1,000 miles on the oil/filter. The oil looked just the same as it did going in. But for peace of mind I put a good combo on it. My ZX deserves only the best, that and the K&N has a handy 17MM nut on it, which is the same size as our drain plugs, now thats cool. Makes removal that much easier

If I own it...Mobil 1 is in it. The bike runs 15w50.

Sadly there are better oils out there too, but Mobil 1 is still good enough.
