I bought a 2006 red 500R in April and got a red helmet to match. However, in July, I purchased a 2006 blue ZX6R. I really don’t want to buy another helmet since I just got mine. Has anyone every tried to paint their helmet? If so, what kind of results did you get? What type of paint did you use? Do you even think it’s possible? Pics would be nice if you have them.

they have some special instructions on the type of paint you use...and be sure not to heat cure it... those are about the only precautions

yes be carefull, you need to use special paint, or waterborn paint or sumptin, some chemicals can damage your lid and make it worthless in a crash with out you even seeing anything wronge with it!!! I dont know what kind of paint is recomended but im sure you can serch for it online

I have painted helmets before with good quality off the shelf auto motive paint from any Auto shop. Primed first and then ready to go. Just make sure to go with multiple light coats and your will get a great result.

most of the time it is better to get a new helmet versus repainting or custom paint..

I had a custom job done from a friend and it was $250.00
plus the $350.00 for the arai helmet..so do the math?
