SO I JUST BOUGHT A NON RUNNING 95 ZX6E. after a couple days i finally got a chance to mess with it. When i hit the start button, the lights dim but nothing happens. so i take the air box and all that off al pull the plugs. when i get to the third cylinder, the plug is smashed, and the piston is damaged. This sux but i kinda expected it.

does anybody know if these engines are rebuildable and where i can get the parts? Or do i have to do an engine swap?

What engines can i put in this one, i mean from what other bikes will the engines swap.?

For parts, I go through my local dealer. I would do the same if I was you. Considering that the parts you need are internals, I doubt that many other places would stock them.

Rebuildable=yes
Bring back from the dead=not worth your time

As for the swap, I am not 100% on the model years, but the dealer would be happy to help you on that as well.

not exactly sure what you mean by "bring back from the dead" its just a little engine work

I understand that it is engine work, and it doesn't sound like much.........but if there is more broken inside than what you can tell initially, then the cost/benefit would change (in my mind at least). You can pick up older engines pretty cheap.

i see what you mean and ive already thought of that. if its too much after its tore down then ill get a new engine
