I have a 2014 ninja 300 that I've have for over 2 years. On a ride today, I noticed a whining sound that would only show up under acceleration. Sounds very similar to a supercharger whine. I've never heard this sound before. It is only audible in 5th and 6th gear. I just had the chain and sprockets replaced and an oil change done by a licensed shop less than 100 miles ago. I'm nervous to continue riding, as I am worried about causing further damage if something is wrong. Any ideas on what it is?

Chain could be too tight or misaligned. Need about an inch of slack and the rear sprocket should be in line with the front. Chain properly lubed? All can contribute to this sound.

Hello and welcome!

This could be the normal sound for the new sprockets and chain, but make sure it has proper slack and is aligned correctly as @Zephyr mentioned above.
