preparing for spring riding...

So spring is soon on the way here in New England (not soon enough!) and I will bringing the bike back to life. Is there anything in particular I should do to get it ready for this season. I'm already planning on changing the oil (did that before storage, too) and cleaning / lubing the chain (checking the slack, too). Aside from the general maintenance (levers, lights, tires, etc.), do I need to bring it in for a "tune-up" or will it just be smooth all summer?

I don't think there much to do other then what you mentioned.
A little bit of carb cleaner additive in the gas can't hurt..
Also try to avoid running it for short periods, especially if you are riding hard. In this cold weather it can cause water to consence in the oil pan.
So just make sure you are running the bike for a while, long enough to get it nice and warm, so any water can burn off.

If you changed your oil before you put the bike away for the winter, then there is no need to change it again at the beginning of the new riding season. The oil is fine.
