I'v just picked up a 1988 gpz 750r. the water and oil cooled version.
its been open to the elements for 3 years.
a few quick pics.
As she stands now

The contents of the fuel tank.

any tips or comments? bring them on!!!

Hi, what did you pay for it?
As far as comments, I would start at the back and move forward.
Whatever was in that tank has morphed into something ugly!
On a sincere note, worth fixing up, good luck. :D

thanks. i payed £200 for her.
i'v cleaned the carbs out and fired her up. she sounds sweet with the Motad Nexxus exhaust system on.:)
i think i'll start at the front next as the forks need an overhaul.
is there anything i should know before diving headfirst into them? its got the anti-dive system and some strange link pipe above the bottom triple.

That link pipe is for the air assist in the forks.
Make sure you get a Manual for it, as it will save you alot of
headaches. I haven't rebuilt my forks as I have a local shop that does
work for me in exchange for beer and sharpening, and they did my forks.
Do alot of research on it before you dive in, as the drawback to old school muscle
is locating parts that are broke,lost or need rebuilding!
