so i got to looking at my bike after i got to work today. the oil sight glass looked dry, until i stood the bike straight. i dont have my manual with me. is the oil level supposed to be checked on the stand or held straight? on the stand theres none visible, straight it touches the top mark. thanks guys

:plusone: Also, while hot, but given time to drain back down into the pan. Won't make a HUGE difference, but it will bump it up a little bit. Generally you want it dead in the middle of the site glass while cold and upright so that while hot it'll be a bit above 1/2, sorta close to 2/3's.

One other thing that is important and sometimes people make the mistake.

If you put the bike on a rear stand to check the oil level, you MUST put it on a front stand also or the sight glass will look low.
