Finally got everything all wired up and mounted last week. Here are some pics of my setup. The PTT button is perfect and nothing gets in the way of my normal riding!

Products are:

StemMount 16mm
Escort Passport 8500 X50
JVC 200 MiniDV Cam
Motorola 2-way Radios
Motocomm Headsets w/ Push-To-Talk

This may be a dumb question, but what are the walkies for? By headsets do you mean actual headsets that you run up into your lid to communicate with the riders you're with? If so, then that would make sense. Just curious. Awesome set up by the way!

The 2-way radios plugin to the PTT switch and Motocomm headsets. I also have the radar detector wired in through the headset as well so I can hear any alerts. There are 2 ear speakers (L+R) inside the helmet along with an adjustable boom microphone. We get about 1 mile of communication clearly (in traffic) and have tested up to 85mph with audible and legible communications.

I got it from RadarBusters.com, I think it was about $60 + shipping. Works perfect for what I need but would be a little better if it had side to side tilt or a 360 swivel ball mount for the head.

YOu know you can get a Light that fits into your helmet instead of having a ear piece to hear the signal. The light would just show you the signal. I was thinking it was at the same site radarbusters.com. That whole thing you got looks like alot of unnecessary stuff strapped to your handlebars.

Here it is, the H.A.R.D system. It can be mounted inside of full helmets too.

For $165 I think hearing it for $50 is much better. And at the same time I can COMMUNICATE to my fellow riders. The stuff on my handlebars is not just for my radar, it's for voice communication and music.

How is all of this working out for you? How is the radar at picking up cops? How do you have the radar powered?

Works perfect, I've done some freeway testing and some street. My friend comes through loud and clear up to about 1 mile away even at 70-85mph. The radar picks up K and Ka 360 degrees no problem, I even got laser the other day. When the radar comes through the headset it's LOUD and if I hold down the PTT button when the radar is going off my friend can hear it on his side as well. The radar is hooked up with the Direct wire kit, 1 to the headlight fuse and 1 to a chassis ground.
