Sounds to me like a bull s*%t story if you ask me. I don't hear any rattle at all. Things could be a little loose around the base of the rotor. I would just go through and tighten the bolts. Wiggle it around by hand, it shouldn't be moving at all. Then check the calipers and make sure that the bolts holding the caliper aren't coming loose. I have made it a habit when cleaning my bike to check all of the bolts that I come across just to make sure that the high revving and vibration didn't break any of them loose. I lost one from my hugger that way.

Recently I have noticed my front breaks make a rattling or ticking noise when I ride. Tapping the breaks usually sets it straight but it is quite anoying. The place I bought the bike from reckons it's natural and they rattle becuase they need space to expand when things get hot. Does everyone else have this problem or am I not getting the whole truth?

Yea I thought it was a bit fishy, they are probly trying to get out of doing a complicated job or somthing. Thanks for your advice Shadee, I will try to tighten things up and make sure there isnt anything loose in there and see if it helps.
