i've tried searching but rear brake is such a vague topic...
today i changed my oil (but didn't touch the brakes) and when i left the garage and used my rear brake on a hill to keep me rolling backwards there was a nasty squeal. it squeals probably half the time i used the rear brake from a low speed. i thought the pad was dirty or something so i tried to use the rear brake (hard) at a decent pace, and there was a rapid mechanical clacking sound (kinda like the chain slipped off or something).
anyone have any ideas?
and how much space is there supposed to be between the brake pad and rotor?
thanks!
