Rearset & sprocket questions

Alright 6R tuning gurus,

What sprocket and chain setup will help with my low end? (specifics) Also what recommendations do people have on rearsets? I'm thinkin about proteks, 1) I've heard only good about them and 2)they're dirt cheap on parts411.com right now.

thanks in advance

Since you're on a 2000 model you might want to add 2 teeth to the rear sprocket or remove one tooth from the front. The latter slightly increases chain wear. You can get sprockets from Vaz, Sprocket Specialties, Renthal and many others. As for rear sets, I'd go with the Vortex jobbies for your bike, you can find them on eBay for around $280 shipped.
thanks for the advice. Can I still keep the stock chain with that sprocket setup?
You can order the sprockets specific to your type of chain, ie 520, 525, 530 et al. In other words, yes you can use your stock chain.
going up 2 will still allow you to use the stock chain yes, much more then that and your chain wont be long enough, unless you drop in the front too.
thanks for the enlightenment. Also, is the only difference between chains are the size? for example a 530 compared to a 520?
thanks
