Hey guys I bought a wrecked r6 off a buddy of mine for a real good deal. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in re-registering a wrecked bike. Any advice would be appreciated. Im in Newfoundland but experience from any province would be good. I'd imagine there are only small differences for something like this between them. Thanks in advance

In Alberta it's fairly simple. You first check to see if the bike is determined as either salvage-write off or salvage-repairable. The Registry here runs the VIN for $25 and will tell you.

If it's write off, take it to the track or stunt it. If it's repairable you must repair the bike to almost showroom condition (meet ALL DoT requirements) including signals, lights, reflectors, guards (chain undertail etc), no leaks, frame straight, mirrors, working gauges (speedo) etc. Basically, bike must be almost perfect then take it to a dealership that does "salvage inspections" and hope that you pass. Around here the inspection is $200 roughly.
