I am painting my bike so i need to get the signals off... i took the screw out that held that black piece of metal in... that did nothing... i figured the whole thing would just pop off.... i gave a little force but it acted like it would break before it came out so i stopped... thanks for the input guys...

Once the metal plate is off, it's only a rubber grommet holding the light in. If it's cold that may make it more difficult. Try warming it up with a blow dryer or heat gun. It should come right off.

[:M50] what he said. took mine of and believe they were a b.... to get off almost like they were glued. Then my friend show up and says use a blow dryer next time (next time) what the................

You can twist and pull on them w/o taking the bolt out. They will come right off.
