Hi Hi,

I couldn't fina a color matched seat cowl for my bike (2005-Phantom Metallic Z750), so i ened up getting a black seat cowl (black paint with clear coat on it)

I have the silver paint to repait, but not sure how to do it.

Can i just paint over the existing paint job, or do I have to strip off the existing black paint and clear coat?

I'm worried about damaging the plastic cowl surface with the paint stripper, or even by sanding.

Any input would be great

Thanks.

[:+1] on the sand and prime first. Use 600 grit just to scuff it up enough to shoot. 600 is fine enough that you shouldn't see any sanding scratches after the primer goes on. Are you shooting it with a spray can or a gun?

Thanks for the help guys.

I'm gonna be using a spray can for the primer, paint and clear coat.

(got from colorrite.com)
