Hi!

My good old Ducati 750SS is 11 years old, and it still runs very nice, but I like to get a new and stronger bike.

I already did a testride on a Honda CBR 600RR and on a 2003 ZX6R. Both bikes feel quite identical, but the Kawa has more punch, and there are too many "very new" parts on the Honda, like the integrated suspension and exup exhaust system. "very new" often means embryonic, and the fuel consumption of the Honda is enormous (people reported an average of 9l/100km) so I think I go for the Kawasaki.

Well, the 600RR looks better, has an analog rev counter, but that's not enough to buy it. :)

Ok, this is my first posting in this forum, for everyone who's interested, I live in Freiburg, Germany (Black Forrest area) and I'm 34 years old.

Hi Tam. The Kawi has some pretty cool stuff, like radial-mounted brake calipers and upside down front suspension. About the looks, I didn't like the ZX-6R the first time I saw it, but it grows on you. I find it much sexier than the CBR 600 RR, now.

You are from Germany, uh? .oO(thinking...) I am planning to take a ride throught Europe in my ZX-6R this summer or the next. One of the places to go would certainly be Germany (I would love to go all the way to Cape Nord). How about I get in touch when (and if) I go for that ride?

No problem at all. If you want to stop at my place, I'll be there and show you some roads you'll never forget.

I just have arranged another testride with the ZX6R, I hope I can make the descision after it. Also, I have two tests in a famous german bike mag, where the Kawa beats the shit out of all other new 600, and a competition against a 750 Gixxer where they rated the Kawa over the Suzuki.

Seems this is a must have for me, since I really like riding fast through the near mountains.

Welcome to the board, tam. Actually, both the Honda and the Kawasaki are using "very new" parts this year. You just have to make your decision based on the size of your smile while riding those bikes. On what bike were you riding when you had the bigger grin?:D lol

Recently, I have posted some comparisons on the two bikes. Check them out.

Aloah speedvlaze!

Both bikes are made for pure fun! There are pros and cons for every one of them.

The Honda is a bit smoother to ride, it looks better because of the ex-up exhaust and other "Hey - I'm as fast as Rossi" parts. TAs I saw the first preview I said to a friend of mine: Look, this is my next bike. Now, I talked to some RR drivers, and one told me, he has an avarage fuel consumption of 9l/100km on normal streets, this is out of the question for me. Also, the Honda is about 600 Euro more.

The Kawa is the cleaner bike imho, it looks like cost of maintenace is much less than for the Honda. Also the Kawa feels and def. is the stronger bike.

Now, I'm going to look for your comparison.

hmmm...I don't think the fuel consumption is that drastic. It should be comparable to the other 600's. I am usually in the chat room when I am browsing the forums. Give me a time (USA Eastern Time) you can meet me in there and we can discuss some of the stuff.
