They look pretty small, so I'd be weary of getting them if you want protection in a high speed lowside. They might help if you simply knock the bike over, or lose it in a lowspeed lowside, but they don't look rugged enough for much else. I have small ones on my 02 and they are the same concept.
Check if they attatch through a fairing bolt location or an engine mount. If an engine mount then they could be OK for higher speed crashes, but if its a fairing mount then its just good for small stuff.
