I was wondering if it was ok to run your bike at 9000rpms and higher and if that is where the real power kicks in. I saw something on this earlier with the 636 and was wondering if the bike was made to be romped on. It seems when i take it to around 10-12000 rpms the bike really starts to kick and wants to go. Thanks in advance.

The tach has a part on it where it's shaded red -- you can take your bike all the way to top of that "redline" without worries. If you try to take it beyond the rev-limiter will kick in and knock the engine back down to around 12,000rpm.

Friend of mine with a ZX-6RR tells me he can feel two bursts of power -- one at around 8000/9000 and another at around 13,000rpm. Now go have fun, dude.
Depends how and where your riding. Ill keep it above 9 when riding through twisties. But not going down the block to my friends house.
