Most of the time my bike shifts fine. But-

Sometimes when I downshift fast and/or downshift two or more gears before letting out the clutch, the shifter gets kinda hung up. It will go into a false neutral and it won't downshift anymore. (You can push the lever down, and it returns, but it doesn't do anything.) So, to clear up the problem I upshift it. This gets it back into gear with a BANG. But I'm not sure which gear it goes back into.

This happens just once in a while and I have been riding this bike for over 3 years now. And I've finally decided to investigate. I plan on taking out the clutch & shift linkage and check it all out. Might be hard to figure this out though, since it doesn't always do it.

Anyone else got any ideas?

Thanks

alot of times it can be the rider and sloppy shifting habbits.....the shift lever position in relation to your foot is key for consistent solid shifts!!

the 05/06 can benefit from the Factory PRO shifter kit, expensive but can be worth the investment.
