Hey Andy,

If you want you can send me the pics and I can upload them here, that page you have hosting them is extreamly slow must be a killer on a dail up.

Just a suggestion: why not take the decals off the Upper? I think it would better!

Ahh, thank god for ethernet ^

But yes, I agree with localbar about removing those decals. It would clean up the bike's look a lot.

I have a 2001 too. It looks like you put a 2000 upper on your bike huh? I agree with these guys about removing the decals. Here is mine without any and a 2002 rear fairing and green hugger. My peg fell off so we're doing repairs on onw of our group runs. The bike fell off it's stand. :(

I've only ever taken the progrip off my tank...you think i should waste the money on a body shop to take the decals off? i'm thinking i could do it myself with some goo-gone and a little elbow grease. I think i'm going to try in a couple weeks, i'll post pics when I do. I was also thinking that maybe i'm going to repaint the bike black, i can't decide if I like the green or what, sometimes i love it, and sometimes dont know what I was thinking. Let me know what you think

Hey Andrew,

I don't think you should take off all the decals.. just the ones on the upper (the ones that do not align up with the 01 sides) All you need to do is get a hair dryer heat them up and peel.. Use WD40 or goo gone to remove the sticky residue

They are small so its not even an hours worth of work which you can do yourself.

Like this:

Sorry about the photoshop hack job. but you get the idea.

I am with you on the green, most of the time I love it but sometimes I wish is was silver and black =) or just silver or black!!!

I really don't even look at my bike anymore so nothing bothers me anymore. I just get on and ride.

I just hate the look of the decals on the 2001. I am posting a link to a pic of the 2003 ZX12R. This is what my bike will mostly resemble when it's done. I love the black paint on the frame and swing arm. As for removing the decals.. yeah, do it yourself. Some are easy and others are a pita. I think it really brings out the best in the bike's looks..

The zx12r..

I'm definatly taking the decals off now. I can't get my mind off it for some reason. Anyway, how fast have you all taken your 6r's? I had mine at 190kmph (130mph?) but cut it off because of a movie being filmed a street over (with lots of coppers)...I know anyone can go straight and fast, but just curious. I've got some new pics of the bike comming soon too. I baught the bike second hand from a guy who dropped the thing, you think he replaced the upper with a 2000 instead of 2001? the lower fairing looks 2001, but i'm not sure about the upper (right before the lights). Either way i snagged it for $7,000cdn and put $250 into repairs and its mint now. got to run.

I took mine to about 150... Dont like it so I will not be doing that agian unless I am somewhere out in the old west =)

The upper is from a 2000, the bike is a 2001 but the upper was replaced with a 2000. Thats why I suggested you take off the decals from the upper so it doesnt look like its from the 2000.

Anyways keep an eye on http://www.ebay.com for a tank, sometimes there are good ones

I dropped $250 to have the front fender repainted, the dents (3 of em) taken out and repainted and the whole bike polished $250 CANADIAN!, thats peanuts for you yankees. I have some more recent pics of the bike up soon, it's in mint cond. right now. Any of you guys wheelie your bike in first?
