i removed the speed sensor on my 03 so i could have gp shift (the cover too) would this cause the fi light to come on

I would think so. The bike is a speed density FI system, without the speedo sensor there is no way for it to acurately measure and deliver fuel with the injection system. Plus you are not recording actual driven miles which is odometer fraud and is a federal felony.

unless its a track only bike. then i dont think it matters. but im guessing the fi light would be on.

thanks, it is a track only bike now, i put the cover back on and hooked up the speed sensor i just cut a notch in the cover. i love gp shift!!!
the light stays off now
