The suspension spring on my 98 Ninja is stock and, thus, is very ugly. I would like to paint it or get a colored spring that will accent the bike instead of drawing negative attention.

The newer bikes come with colored springs for a reason and I think it looks pretty cool.

How much will it cost to paint it (i.e. what paint do I need) vs. buying a colored spring.

Thanks for your help.

Why dont you get it powder coated? It will last longer than paint. A spring shouldn't be more than $35-$50 to get it powder coated.

Let Saddam come and play!

How well will paint or even powder coating stand up to that? there is a lot of flex in that spring, and most paint will crack with movement like that.

I've seen some people who actually had a plastic tube around the coil, not sure if it was shrink wrapped on or not, but they last a long time.
