When I arrived at work this morning and turned off my '03 ZX6R, it was making a strange high pitched whistling noise - it sounded like it was coming from the petrol tank. The bike was quite hot, but not too hot. It carried on for a minute or so and then stopped. Any ideas? Is this normal? Help!!!

Yep, that's normal. It is coming from the tank vent that equalizes pressure in the tank. It is most noticeable on hot days.

Yeah, thats why when filling up your gas tank do not cap it off. The pressure builds and you could end up with a lap of gas.
