Basically I am giving the advantage of ram air from the word go.
Off idle, and stright to red line.
Just working on getting the right settings to get the combination right.
Hopefully.......with all said and done there will be gains to be had.

To those who remember.........I have finally got the fans installed in the air box and have begun testing.

The first run yielded nothing bad......ie, starving for fuel.
The weather was crap cold and wet.

Second run.....(switched to K&N)getting the base for the differences.Fans on/off.....noticeable difference.Full length ram air tubes not hooked up....drawing warm air from motor(fixing tonight).Top speed run was good, no noticable losses.Mid range seems punchier than normal(just what I am looking for).

Third run...hook up tubes......go up on the mains.(2 at least)

Update later.

if you have fans in your airbox(???) im thinking that you would need atleast 3 more hp to feel anything against the added front end extra weight. neat idea though.

Extra weight????
My man,....this is the 21st century......both weigh under 1/2 a pound.

Plastics are wonderful......hell, I lost 5 pounds last weekend...so that will even out the 7HP for every pound idea.

Just got back from the testing runs again......definately an improvement.......Throttle response is VERY crisp, power delivery seems to be more violent.....6-9000rpm range.

A few more things to look over.....double check.Ride for a week or so with the mod, then switch back to the stock set-up......a little easier to judge a loss than a gain.

Better yet, dyno with before and after. That way you aren't running on pure gut feel.

Well,......

There is still no side effects yet....bike was set up a little rich from last season......the fans and K&N seem to have nicely balanced things out.Just a trace amount od carbon on the exhaust tip now.....pulls hard as always up to red-line in sixth.
Did notice the gas milage on the bike has seemed to go wayyy up...like 20-30kms more than average.Looking into that some more, I might have just crammed more in at one fillup or two......

Still getting adjusted to the power of a bike vs. Mazda pickup.
Once I get board....stock will prevail again and hopefully losses will be found.....I don't mind doing this but I hate to end up with absolutely nothing to show except experience.
