I purchased a stock 99 zx6r with 5k miles about 4 months ago. I replaced a stock exaust with Yoshi RS-3 splip on. It seemed to sound a bit better, but it still didn't sound as it should. The technician in my shop told me that it could be plugs, due to the bike not being used for long periods of time.

Is he right? If i replace my plugs, will it sound as it should? if so, what kind of plugs should I get? And will I be able to replace them myself?

um you could try replacing your plugs, but i don't know if that would fix it, how does it not sound as it should? Check the airbox, clean the filter, my bike had a mouse nest in the airbox which caused it to run not the best, i thought it sounded fine, but then i took it out and cleaned the filter, and it was very much impressed and felt like i gained a lot of HP. But check that, and check the plugs and see if it is running good by if the plugs are coffee brown and not white or completely black.
