on firday i did a wheelie and kinda came down hard. my bike starts to like die/bog out whenever i go into second gear. first gear throttle open works fine in any position. 2-5 gear, if i just give it a tiny bit of throttle i am ok, but if i try to give it a good ammount of gas my bike bogs, almost as if it is running out of gas, and it kinda goes in and out, like it gets some gas then dies gets some gas and dies. any thoughts or suggestions?

thanks

ok so i took off the tank and the fuel filter and the fuel pump, everything there is gravy. what would cause a problem getting fuel into the carbs, or could there be a problem in the carb. i did some more diagnostics, when i run it hard in first and go into second and stay with it, its ok, but as soon as i pop it into third it pretty much dies right out. the problem seems intermittent, if i keep the gas on the bike seems to go in and out, as if i had run out of gas. i checked the petcock working fine, the filter is a little grubby but it works, im going to replace this.

can any add anything that might help me out in this situation before i rip the carbs off my bike??

Sounds as though you may have crap in your carbs, when you came down it is possible that you may have forced crap into them or messed things up (moved or unbalanced things) inside the carb themselves.
As you said, replace your fuel filter, drain and clean your tank and fill with fresh fuel, try and flush your fuel pump (I don't know how to do this or if it is possible) and then clean your carbs and if you can afford it put in a 'carb kit' (you know new 'bits and pieces' for the carbs)
Hopefully this will fix your problem.
Good luck, let us know how you go.

this is pretty much what i think as well. drained the tank, havent changed the filter but i need to very badly. im looking for a carb kit, if anyone knows where i can get a good deal and who stocks them, let me know please. rough estimate of cost as well, so i know im not getting ripped off. i think the carbs might come out today!
