Thanks everyone for the comments.

No, the damper does not get in the way of your knee. It was a bit close at first, but after repositioning the angle at which it comes back, it clears with no problem. I'm a big guy too, 6'3", and smaller guy/gals probably wouldn't need to reposition it to begin with.

The install on the headlight wasn't difficult, just takes a little creativity and a couple of brackets and you're good to go.
