What is your opinion about patching a tyre from the inside?

I ran a rear tire with a plug it in for 2000 miles. It held for those 2000 miles but started to get a slow leak I never felt safe on it so for peace of mind I just replaced the set.

I wouldn't ever ride with a patched tire again (only for emergency repair) as soon as I get home I would order a set of new tires.

You only have two tires and if one has a hole eventually it will blow.

he's right. patch it this way and that way, it's not as safe as a unpatched piece of rubber. i've only ever had one blowout that i patched (knocking on wood), and only had to ride on it for 30 miles to the dealer to get new tires. didn't feel safe for any of those 30 miles....

amen to that.... dont ever ride with a patch in your tire... that 200 dollars for a new tire will cost a lot less then if you patch the tire and have it blow out, then wreck. I got a thin nail in my bike and had the option to put a patch in it but my mechnic said dont do it bc it could blow out..... NOT WORTH THE RISK!!!

Thanks for the input all.

I guess I'll start saving for a new tyre<img src=icon_smile_angry.gif border=0 align=middle>
