Yes, the top clamp is what I want. I'm taking a strict "if it's only purpose is to add weight and get wrecked when I crash, it has to go" approach with the new 636 race bike. So I'm removing the lockset so I don't need a key that will just break off or get lost or get left at home.
If I could find a better aftermarket top clamp that still allows for the scotts damper, I could avoid having to grind out the break-off security bolts that hold the lockset on.
Attack Performance looks like they might have an entire replacement triple tree (upper and lower) but that's too much $$$$ just to avoid some grinding.
