I was curious who has the most track only miles on a bike? Also what is to be expected as far as mileage goes? the reason I ask is because the track bike I might be buying has about 4000 track miles on it because the owner is a track day instructor for the novice group of STT. He says never any problems with it and that it sounds great. He also said it's burning no oil. Should I be concerned?

I probably have about 1200 track miles (instructor for Tony's Track days.com) and 6500 street miles on my 05 636 and all is well.

Keep in mind that a lot of a track day instructor's miles are not at full pace/ redline.

Yeah if he is a novice instructor those are easy miles. I have 5k track and race miles on my 636 with no problems yet. My Sv had about 14k on the motor when I blew the transmission, it took a day to drop it and tear it down and two days to put it back together with a new transmission.

However track miles push the price down, if the street price is $5k for a bike, a track bike price will be more like $4k.
