I have a 96 zx6r which I have owned for only a couple of weeks. I notice a lot of transmission noise and whine at lower revs - up to about 5000rpm. This seems worse when the bike has fully warmed up. If I pull in the clutch the noise goes even if I rev the engine. At first I thought it was the recently fitted hugger which is a close fit to the rear tyre. Taking this off made no difference. The chain, sprockets and tyres are in good condition. The chain is adjusted properly and does not catch on anything. The bike has a scottoiler fitted and the chain seems to be in good condition. The engine sounds healthy enough with no oil leaks etc. The bike has 12k miles on the clock.

Did you mean the noise goes AWAY when the clutch is pulled in? If so sounds like a new clutch might be in order.

It's days like this I wish I still did drugs!
