I can't reset my trip odometer since my last fall. Could something have come loose or would I have blown a fuse?

Are you able to change the LED screen at all (from the clock to trip A and trip B)? Also try holding the reset button longer it takes a good few seconds for it to reset.
Funny this topic is here I just layed my bike down on its right side on the driveway. Nice and gentlely though not a scratch yay sliders!

Yes I can change from trip a or b to odometer to time. just the reset button.

Sliders help protect the plastics on a bike in the event of a low speed crash or a drop.
As for the reset issue you're having you might want to get it checked by the dealer. You're sure you're holding it down long enough? I thought my reset button wasn't working when I first got the bike, turns out I wasn't holding it down long enough.

Actually, sliders were originally meant to protect the exposed hard parts (case covers, etc). It's an extra benefit that manufacturers have been making them big enough that they end up protecting the plastics too.

For the reset button not working, try pressing it and holding for 10 seconds. If it still doesn't work, I'd pull the plastics and get a look at the back of the cluster. If the "select" button is working chances are it's a loose connection (hopefully). If you can't see anything obvious, then you may have to go to the dealer (still under warranty?) and leave out the part about dropping it...

I wish I had gotten the sliders before I bent the brake pedal. The brake pedal works fine but is slightly bent. Does that harm anything or is my pedal now just "unique"?

I'll investigate the reset button and see what I can do. It did work before the drop.

Nah your brake pedal is not unique because mine has been bent for about a year when I went down in a low speed crash when I first got my 650
Sliders saved the plastic but they can't save everything.

it only matters if the travel has it hitting something else. most people just bend them back enough to clear.

I refused to ride mine until I had sliders. I kept reading about all these people that laid theirs down before they got theirs, or worse, crashed and when they finally made it home, the sliders were waiting on the porch....

No, it's not hitting anything. I can't bend it, I'll have to take it in.

You're right about the sliders. I don't even want to ride anymore when I think about it. I'll order them tonight.

Just get a big wrench to grip the pedal and use as a lever, or a pipe large enough to fit over the end of the pedal and pull slowly.

Sliders are only good for very low to no speed drops. Anything above 30-ish mph and they won't protect your plastics, just your cases and frame if you're lucky.

Well, I've dropped this bike once on each side in the past month so sliders sound good.

My last bike was dropped once on each side too the entire time I had it so hopefully no more drops.

I think the drops have been due to two things:

1. Height: I need it a half or whole inch lower. I don't have $300 for a -1 seat and I'm leary about shaving the seat down,

2. Possibly overconfidence: It's too new of a bike for me still and too early in the season and I should be more careful. My last Ninja was a 250 and it was the easiest ride ever. I could even do some stunts on it so I was very comfortable with that bike. The 650 is a little heavier and taller and I should be more cautious I suppose.

To change the clock, use the reset button under the km counter, but to reset the Trip, use the top button, keeping it pressed for 2/3 seconds!!
