Well, I finally accomplished something with the bike, got that
ZX7 shock on. Weighs ALOT less and feels very planted. As a benefit
the front end doesn't feel as heavy. Just have to get used to the
ass end being a little jacked up! Also got the new seat done, not real
thrilled with the lines, but at least my wife wont fly off the back of it.
will post pics latter. :)

ZX7 shock? Was it at least serviced somewhat recently? Rear shocks are commonly neglected and forgotten about, hence my inquiry why you'd use a shock for a bike that hasn't been in production for a decade.

Good to hear you got it running better though. Always a plus!

Hey Larry, the shock is in great shape, and I may have spoke to soon
as come to think of it, I really don't remember wtf it came off of.
It's been in the garage for the past year. Was machined to fit the turbo, separate
reservoir and adjustable. It's WAY better than the 27 yr old shock Its replacing!:)

Bikes about, rough estimate,2 inches taller in the back. Turns quicker and feels
good, anything I should worry about with the ass end higher?

nah. if you like it, then keep it that way. or... you can experiment and see if you like a different setting more.. but the more you raise the ass and change effective trail the less high speed stability you'll have. if you like big boost highway blasts at XXX speeds, then i'd stay close to what you have. but if you're more into some twisties and such, then bump another 5mm and reset sag, dial the compression damping up a touch in the ass and it outta feel real planted.

Seals are leaking, and I am fortunate in the fact they like the beer I brew
at the shop were I take it. They do a very good job on the bike, teach me
shit, and as long as the beer is there it's a free repair. They love the bike,
so they wanted to play with some oil weights and see what happens. Still
have to get Progressive fork springs at some time. ;)

1: Put on gear
2: start bike
3: Ride really fast
3a: Ride really fast through rain
4: Go home
