Two Brothers Slip on

923 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  ripTOOL
I have been researching online for a slip on exhaust. I have managed to find a few that have sound files so I can listen to them. So far, the Two Brothers has the best sound, deep and throaty. It also seems to offer a decent HP increase for a slip on. What I have not been able to find is if there is any information on how loud the pipe is. I want it to be louder than stock but I don't want to be painfully loud. Anybody have any experience with how loud this pipe is? Anybody know what decibel level is claimed for it? Any observations appreciated. Thanks.

Got one on mine.
I got it for the same reasons you listed. Deep and throaty. Everything else just sounded like a sewing machine to me. THat was in 99 though. Lots of good exaust systems out now. Akrapovics sound awesume, not quite as loud as TBR. More of an indycar whine built in.

Loudness..... TBR, you'll know its there but its not like a race setup or a loadass D&D. I think its the perfect blend. I couldnt tell you how many compliments I get just on how mine sounds. And the deepness continues at high RPM. Unlike a yosh I heard that sounded deep at idle but a high pitched scream at RPM.

Anyway. Cant go wrong with the TBR price either. Best bang for the dollar. If ya want a little poser value, get the akrapovic. (or how ever you spell akrapovic).

98 6R. TBR slip-on. No poser add-ons.
How is your TBR holding up? Has it required a repacking at all? I'm curious how often that has to be done. Thanks for the observations, now I just need spousal approval...
Ive been told you need to repack every so often. Not sure how often, but Ive never done mine. Still sounds the same. You'll know it when the packing gets burned up and blows out.(LOUD) Ive got 24,000 miles on mine and still no repack.
I polish the can every now and then and it still sparkles like day one.
