Hi Everyone.

First post here as I've just bought a ZX-9R E1 (2000).

I love the bike apart from the single garbage can sized exhaust strapped to the side.
The room under the seat is tight so I've bought some non-standard dog bones to lift the tail by 40mm.
The exhaust path as it comes out of the lower faring and I wondered if anyone here had managed to do this mod successfully.

The pipe diameter would need to reduce by quite a bit to come up between the rear shock and the swingarm.
Otherwise if it had to come on the outside of the swingarm I don't think I would like the appearance.
This got me thinking , as some of the later ZX6R and ZX-10R models actually have underseat exhausts.
On closer inspection, the swingarm on these model is shaped to accept the transition of the exhaust from under the engine to under the seat.
So I was wondering if the swingarms from these type of bikes would actually fit onto my E1 frame.

I'd love to hear from anyone that has gone down this route with good or bad results.
I've swapped the garbage bin for an underslung tail tip with baffle.
It's a bit louder than I would like but the aesthetic is acceptable.
Thanks in advance for any advice.

Just from poking around on the internet, I have seen 9's with under tail exhaust. And it appeared that the pipe fit up between the swing arm and shock. Have you gone thought with the idea yet?
