undertail question...

If it is a really good deal, grab it.

You can always have it painted.

In my opinion, all body fairings should match with maybe the exception of the hugger and maybe the front fender. So I'd say your undertail should match your tail fairing. It all depends on the colors and how it all balances out.

Now I know there are exceptions with front fenders, huggers, carbon fiber, etc.

Post some pics if you can, the blue rims with the black bike sounds bad ass.

I just bought an 2001 ZX6R, its custom painted flat black and it has candy blue wheels (the bike was originally blue). I wet to a local shop (very reputable), and he told me that he has a left over undertail that fits the zx6r..its blue, the same as my wheels, with led taillights, now the question is should I put it on blue to match the wheels, or should I paint it flat black like the rest of the bike, or what, also the lips of the wheels will be chromed. The blue piece is a good deal. I just want to know if the bike would look stupid all black with only a blue undertail and blue wheels.. please advise me as to what you think would look cool. thank you.
Definately get the undertail regardless of color if youre getting a good deal on it. New undertails can run up to $200. I personally would get it and paint it black if I were you and as far as the rims go. I would leave it for now and for a winter project, strip the paint and polish those bad boys, Thats what Im doing with my rims this summer. You can find detailed instructions if you do a search on polishing rims. It would help if you post a pic though.
