Okay, I posted this quick guide to removing your mudguard on the '03...

Here's a couple pics that might help too... plus shots of my updated rear end with the eliminator I made...

1) A shot of how you have to strip down to get fender off:

2) A close up of the bracket (eliminator) I made:

3) A close up of the bracket with short stalks installed:

4) The finished product:

Yep, that's the ticket... same style bolt but it's a bit longer, no problem using it though... I just used a small plastic spacer underneath it.

Actually on the fender eliminator bracket I used a few rubber spacers to avoid having metal screws touching the bodywork too... I recommend it because there's going to be some vibration hitting that thing...

Found one small problem with having the plate mounted where you have it, (mine to)the amount of water/ mud that is kicked up onto the rear section and taillight. I just got back from a record wettest Bike Week ever and had to ride through some mud and a lot of water. It didn't get on my back, but the p-seat on around to the plate were covered, so don't ride a passenger in the rain if you want her to call again....

Other than that, I still love the looks with the mudflap off and will never put mine back on. I might try to move my plate to the other holes to see if that helps.

Bike looks sweet dj! Keep it up. I am still trying to recoup from the Daytona trip, and saving for Bike Week in Myrtle Beach, so it may be a while until I get my Devil shotguns.

... just tell her to wear a white t-shirt and sit backwards ???

Naw, I have all the passenger gear removed now, I haven't taken a passenger in years.

So fill us in more on the Daytona experience !!! Did you catch the Superstock race? Where'd ya sit? Any comments on the bike?
