im rebuilding my bike is it necessary to use the v fairing

yes the v piece is a structural part of the front fairing it holds the sides at the 2 lower points making it more rigid otherwise the fairing would sway left and right as the wind hits it.

and it also holds the bottom of the left and the right together. not only would they sway but the would slap together and pop apart at high speeds
