So...... I have decided to try something new, after all the anguish and expen$e of trying to keep a functioning CVK40 carburetor alive long enough to do any riding..... I'm going to attempt using the Harley-Davidson CV40 and see what happens. Gonna re-jet it from new with a #48 slo and a #195 main, and add an EZ-just mixture screw just in case. Has anyone ever done this before? Or am I going to make history here? Thoughts, comments, questions, input are all appreciated. My thinking is that in addition to reliability, lower carburetor maintenance, and less expense I would also be able to finally rid the bike of all that convoluted airbox nonsense and have a simple straight-on air cleaner setup.
Lulu is a lowered '97 1500 Classic with a '00 motor, no emission restrictive equipment and has some assorted bling added as you can see, she's purty and gets compliments everywhere she goes
