The guy who is going to change my oil is hardpressed on me getting some swingarm spools. I don't think I seen them mentioned when I looked at the oil change thread on here.

They don't really have anything to do with an oil change. They are meant to be used with a rear stand to support the bike when you work on it. It's worth buying, along with a stand.

Spools aren't a necessity they make putting the bike up on stands much easier. It's still possible to do so without them. Regardless of which you decide on you can still proceed with your oil change.

I just use bolts as temporary spools and jack stands. Works fine for the amount of time I need the bike on a stand, and is much cheaper.

I have done that before, but it's pretty ghetto, lol. Real spools and a stand are definitely worth it.
