I think some of my bike's fluids need topping off and I've got a question on what this part is. The item I circled is the radiator overflow right? But what about the little bottle I've drawn the arrow to? My friend's 636 has red liquid in it, mine is empty as far as I can tell...

The item you circled is the coolant reserve and you'll fill that if your coolant is low, the one with the arrow is overflow for oil if I remember correctly. His might be red depending on the kind of oil he used.

Thanks! After you said oil overflow, some googling shows it's the catch bottle for oil vapor from the intake. Judging by how much was in his maybe he needs to check his oil.

my radiator is full to the brim and nothing is in my reserve bottle, ever...is something clogged?
It sounds like you need to add some coolant to the reserve tank up to the full line.
