Hi,

Looking for replacement rear shock for my ZX6 G2 1999. Anyone know if other models ie zx9r C/E shocks can be fitted & if so which models/bikes in particular?

Ideally i'm after Ohlins or similar :)

As far as quality goes u can't get much better than Ohlins. Penske and Fox Racing are another two reputable shock manufacturers.

what are you looking for out of the shock? do you want just a shock for street riding or something for racing?

if you want just something for street riding that will also do well for your adverage canyon adventure, check out the traxxion dynamics sport shock. if you want full blown race shock, there are a couple good companies. Ohlins, Penske, and WP make good stuff. what is your price range and what is the application?

Hi,

Soz should have explained more :) Usage is fast road & some track days so no racing heroics here!!

Price range wise, well I dont wanna spend a fortune & Ohlins are at the top end of what I want to pay.

Cheers

MadSi,

Fox, Öhlins, and Penske are all good choices.

For the track, I would not recommend the Traxxion Sport Shock. It is an emulsion shock that does not allow you to adjust the compression damping. The Penske 8981 is a better choice.

To help you decide which Fox or Penske shock is best for you, check out traxxion.com. You can also call Reactive Suspension, the UK Axxion Center. Check them out at reactivesuspension.com.

I have a Penske 8981 and love it.

The others were just too expensive - cheers all.
