The policy is under my parent's name but I am the titled owner of the bike. The bike was totalled, so who does the money come for? A scenario similar to this is happening to my friend, and he was wondering if he is going to get the money or his parents.

Most, if not all, states are going to pay the policy holder, since you don't have a lean against the title. It should go to the title holder, but I don't know that there are any laws or regulations that require it.

I don't know of any laws specifing that, but I'm not in NY either. If it's really a problem, your best bet IMO, is to take out a lean before it's bought by the insurance company and notify them that payment is to be made to you. That's drastic, but it would work.

It will be a check that will either be mailed, or handed over by the adjuster if you're present when they disposition it. Some companies mail only.
